‘The Avengers’: New Look At Original Thanos Design Revealed

A new set of images show the original practical design for Thanos when Damon Poitier portrayed the iconic Avengers villain.

While fans and critics alike loved Josh Brolin’s Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, the villain nearly had a completely different look. At the end of the first Avengers film, Damon Poitier practically portrayed Thanos in his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now a new series of images show what Poitier’s Thanos looked like in the development stages of the movie. Ironhead Studio took to Instagram to unveil the new look at the Avengers villain.

The photos of Damon Poitier’s Thanos show him with the red eyes that he’s occasionally drawn with in the comics, while the other images show him with glowing blue eyes. The Avengers villain also wears an intricately detailed helmet that looks similar to his design in the comics. It’s interesting seeing the differences between the practical version of Thanos compared to the CGI version. Take a look at Damon Poitier’s Thanos from the first Avengers movie below.
