‘The Batman’ Remains On Hiatus Despite Lifting Of Shooting Restrictions

A new report suggests that filming on Matt Reeves’ The Batman remains on hiatus even though shooting restrictions have been lifted.

The Batman is one of many productions affected by the worldwide pandemic and shooting was paused on the Robert Pattinson film earlier this year. Production was originally suspended for two weeks before going on hiatus following increased concerns about the spread of the coronavirus. But it seems even after shooting restrictions were lifted across Europe, the film is still on hiatus.

According to a new report from Deadline, The Batman is still on hiatus alongside other Warner Bros. productions like Fantastic Beasts 3 and The Matrix 4. For the moment it isn’t clear when production could resume on the Dark Knight’s latest outing, but the film has been pushed back to October 2021 from its original June 2021 release date.

Are you still excited to see The Batman and a new version of the Caped Crusader? What do you think about the choice of villains in the film? Sound off in the comments below!

Full plot details on The Batman are being kept under wraps, but we know that the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. Following the Dark Knight during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector, The Batman will also make use of the hero’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous live-action adaptations. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

The Batman is currently scheduled to open on October 1, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding Robert Pattinson’s upcoming film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more great video content.
