‘The Eternals’ Star Kumail Nanjiani Says The Film Doesn’t Use Much Green Screen

According to The Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani, the cosmic film doesn’t need to use too much green screen to tell its story.

Although there’s still several months until The Eternals arrives in theaters, Kumail Nanjiani recently explained that the film didn’t rely on using a green screen too much. The cosmic Marvel film will reveal an entirely new race of superheroes living secretly on Earth that reunite to fight an ancient enemy called the Deviants. However, it seems like the film will try to stay a little grounded by using practical effects.

Kumail Nanjiani is playing Kingo in the film, who’s a master swordsman in the comics. The star recently appeared on Deadline’s New Hollywood podcast alongside his wife Emily Gordon to talk about the projects they’re currently working on. He discussed his time on The Eternals, explaining that the Marvel film is “mostly practical” and that they didn’t use a green screen for the majority of production.

“It looks beautiful and it’s all mostly practical. Like we didn’t do very much green screen at all.”

What do you think about The Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani’s comments about using a green screen in the film? Are you excited to see The Eternals? Sound off below!

Here is the official synopsis for Marvel Studios’ The Eternals:
