‘The Flash’: Ezra Miller’s Contract With DC & Warner Bros. To Expire Soon

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ezra Miller days as The Flash may be numbered since his contract with DC and Warner Bros. expires this year.

After learning the shocking news the Barry Allen himself actor Ezra Miller wanted more creative control of the script and is now co-writing The Flash film in order for him to stay attached to the DC and Warner Bros. project, it’s a bit clearer as to why considering Ezra Miller’s contract with DC and Warner Bros. expires this year; specifically in May.

This may come as a big conundrum for Ezra Miller as he could easily be replaced by the studio should Warner Bros. not go with his script for the film. Ezra Miller is also engaged with the Fantastic Creatures And Where To Find Them third installment this year, so he would have to work hard to properly deliver in both fronts.

What do you think? Should Ezra Miller exit the role of Barry Allen/The Flash from the DCEU? Sound off in the comment section down below!

Following Aquaman, which is now playing, the DCEU continues with Shazam! on April 5, 2019, which will be followed by Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, and Wonder Woman 1984 on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also set to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

Here is the synopsis for DC’s next film, Shazam!:

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Directed by David F. Sandberg, DC Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Ron Cephas.

Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the current DC cinematic universe as we learn it.
