The Flash has unveiled a shocking relationship between Nora West-Allen (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and Cicada.
The Flash has been bringing wild, science-fiction adventures to Arrowverse fans since 2014. This current fifth season has introduced a new villain to the series, Cicada, played by Chris Klein. Tom Cavanagh’s Eobard Thawne has also had a presence in this season of The Flash thanks to his relationship with Jessica Parker Kennedy’s Nora West-Allen. According to the latest episode of the series, titled Memorabilia, it turns out that’s not the only villain that the speedster has a relationship with.
Jessica Parker Kennedy’s DC hero took it upon herself to go into the dreamland Inception-style to gain the upper hand on Cicada. After Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) discovered that she had done this, the two then took their own adventure into Nora’s dreamscape. During their time here, they were able to see a future in which The Flash is dead but his victories live on in a museum.
According to a recent theory by CBR‘s Meagan Damore, it seems that The Flash could introduce two versions of Cicada during its run, all thanks to Nora. Damore points out that the double-Cicada theory comes into play when Barry and Iris learn that at some point in the future, the villain dissappears but then returns. A video in the museum also plays an intriguing clip that makes the theory seem even more accurate. During the dreamscape venture through the museum, the video reveals this about Cicada.
“Some were left to speculate that Cicada is not a man at all, but an immortal monster.”
The theory suggests that Cicada’s notoriety as an immortal could come from the villain’s neice, Grace, who intereacted with Jessica Parker Kennedy throughout the episode. It’s here that Grace turns from an innocent bystander to a legitimate antagonist to Kennedy’s speedster, setting up a potential future in which Grace seeks vengeance in the form of taking her uncle’s infamous moniker. Fans will have to wait and see what the future holds for Team Flash as the series progresses but this theory certainly doesn’t seem too far-fetched to actually be what The CW has planned for Arrowverse fans.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding the potential relationship between Jessica Parker Kennedy’s Nora West-Allen and the legacy of Cicada as soon as more information becomes available. Do you think the theory sounds plausible? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
