‘The Flash’ Director Reveals Michael Keaton’s Batman Suit In New Photo

The Batsuit has never looked better!

The Flash director Andy Muschietti has revealed a portion of Michael Keaton’s Batman suit in a new photo.

One of the most exciting components of Ezra Miller’s The Flash is how it will involve both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s iterations of Batman thanks to the multiverse. Keaton hasn’t portrayed the Dark Knight since 1992, making his return quite the large ordeal for old DC heads. While details are slim on how Keaton’s Bruce Wayne will be incorporated into the story, it is known that his version of Wayne Manor will appear in the film in some shape or form.

With the solo Flash film finally into production after nearly half a decade of hiatus, director Andy Muschietti has teased fans with an intimate look at Michael Keaton’s Batman suit. It isn’t a complete look at the iconic Tim Burton suit but it does provide a rush of nostalgia to those who absolutely adored the older Batman films. The Bat logo and its outer edges are filled with stains and scruffs, implying that Keaton’s Batman is still continuing to fight the filth of Gotham even in his late age. Be sure to take note of the splashes of red – likely blood, whose placements mirror the splotches of red on the Watchmen cover.

Plot details for The Flash are currently unknown. Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will return as their respective Batmen and guide Barry on this journey inspired by Geoff John’s Flashpoint. Kiersey Clemons will reprise her role as Iris West in the film, Maribel Verdú is set to play Nora Allen, and Sasha Calle will play Supergirl.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a script written by Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson, The Flash will be inspired by the Flashpoint comic storyline, which followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. Written by Geoff Johns and penciled by Andy Kuber, Flashpoint radically altered the status of the DC Comics universe and led to the launch of the New 52 titles. It is currently unknown how much inspiration the upcoming Ezra Miller film will take from the comic.

The Flash is set to hit theaters on June 3, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding The Flash and the future of the DC Extended Universe and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more exclusive video content!
