‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 Sets Premiere Date At Disney Plus

Disney Plus has announced the premiere date for The Mandalorian season two and it’s sooner than expected.

After a gripping season finale, fans are desperate to see where The Mandalorian goes in its second season, and now Disney Plus has announced the premiere date for Din Djarin’s return next month. After the introduction of Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon and the Darksaber, the future of the Disney Plus series is exciting as characters from existing Star Wars lore are set to appear in the second season. Esposito recently teased some “epic lightsaber action” in the new batch of episodes, and with Rosario Dawson seemingly set to play Ahsoka in live action alongside Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan, fans can expect The Mandalorian to heavily tie into The Clone Wars.

Disney Plus revealed The Mandalorian season two will premiere next month, on October 30, also delivering a striking new image ahead of the show’s return. While the first season’s logo showed off a bright desert backdrop showing Din Djarin walking alone, the new art reveals an oceanic background with a dark blue sky as the bounty hunter stands alongside Baby Yoda. Hopefully the series explores more of the Child’s backstory and reveals where he came from as well as what his role in the universe will be. Here is the official synopsis for The Mandalorian:

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. The Star Wars series was written by Jon Favreau, who also serves as an executive producer alongside Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is also on board as a co-executive producer.

Dave Filoni will direct the first episode of The Mandalorian and additional episodes of the Star Wars series were helmed by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard, Dope director Rick Famuyiwa, and Jessica Jones director Deborah Chow.

The Mandalorian is now available exclusively on Disney Plus.
