Reaching out to a fan on Instagram, The New Mutants director Josh Boone explained that a new trailer is in the pipeline and will drop next month. This follows a recent confirmation from the New Mutants comic book artist Bill Sienkiewicz relaying similar information in an interview with Kevin Smith, as he noted that the X-Men movie was coming in spite of delays related to the Disney-Fox merger and that he was impressed with what he saw.
Check out what The New Mutants director Josh Boone had to say about the trailer below.
The New Mutants is the final X-Men spin-off that was developed at 20th Century Fox, which is ironically said to lack ties to any of the existing X-Men movies. The New Mutants is said to have a horror tone, but will still retain the teen aspects close in nature to the comic series in spite of a heavily horror-focused first trailer.
The New Mutants features a cast that includes Anya Taylor-Joy as Illyana Rasputin (Magik), Maisie Williams as Rahne Sinclair (Wolfsbane), Henry Zaga as Roberto da Costa (Sunspot), Charlie Heaton as Sam Guthrie (Cannonball), Blu Hunt as Danielle Moonstar (Mirage), and Alice Braga as Cecilia Reyes.
The film is directed by Josh Boone and produced by Simon Kinberg, Karen Rosenfelt, and Lauren Shuler Donner, with a screenplay by Boone and Knate Lee. It is also the last X-Men movie produced by 20th Century Fox, as Marvel Studios are working on integrating Mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The New Mutants will be released on April 3, 2020. Stay tuned for the latest news on the movie.
