Imperator Furiosa has never had a call from Feige!
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has bagged plenty of A-list actors over the years as well as creating some of its own, but one notable star that hasn’t had the call to action is Charlize Theron. The star revealed she’s never been asked to join a Marvel movie when speaking to Variety’s The Big ticket podcast ahead of the release of her Netflix film, The Old Guard. Since The Old Guard follows a group of immortal super-beings, Variety asked whether Theron had ever been offered a role by Marvel Studios.
The star revealed the surprising news, saying she’s never gotten anything and that she wasn’t lying. However she’s not offended because she’s making her own career path and exploring other avenues. Perhaps her role in Netflix’s The Old Guard, based on the comics of the same name by Greg Rucka, will persuade Kevin Feige to offer Charlize Theron a role in a Marvel movie, not that she needs it. Take a look at what the star said to Variety below.
“I swear to God. I’ve never gotten anything. No, I’m not lying to you. But that’s okay. You know what? I am paving my own way. I’m creating my own opportunities. So it’s alright.”
Are you excited to see Charlize Theron in Netflix’s The Old Guard? Do you think the star needs her own Marvel movie? Which hero or villain do you think she could play? Sound-off in the comments below!
