The last few months have seen Marvel Netflix series Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil all getting canceled following their most recent seasons. That only leaves Jessica Jones and The Punisher as the remaining Marvel Netflix series, though no third season of The Punisher has been announced just yet.
This has left many fans worried that the series will soon be canceled, but Jon Bernthal, who plays Frank Castle in the series, recently spoke about the series’ uncertain future with some optimism. During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jon Bernthal revealed that he believes that there will be a future for Frank Castle.
“It’s a character that’s existed for decades, it’s a character that has touched so many people, and it’s a character that’s resonated in the law enforcement and military community. It was an absolute honor to play him, and I know that there will be more Frank Castle one way or the other, and no matter what it is, everything that I’ve gotten to do so far, I’m eternally grateful for. I’m honored that I got to wear the vest.”
After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.
The Punisher Season 2 is currently available on Netflix.
