‘The Punisher’ Season 2 Clip Shows Billy Russo In Therapy

Netflix has released a new clip from the upcoming second season of The Punisher showing Billy Russo (Ben Barnes) in therapy for facial reconstruction surgery, after being slammed into a carousel mirror several times by Frank Castle at the end of season one.

Titled “Therapy Sessions 1 & 2”, the clip sees Russo in discussion with a therapist (Supergirl‘s Floriana Lima), who tells him that her patients usually create masks to “portray what they want to represent to the outside world”. Ignoring Russo’s sarcastic remarks about this being something out of kindergarten, the therapist tells him to think on it before asking “What face do you want the world to see?” The camera then gets closer to Russo as the clip ends. Take a look below:

Clearly Russo has an idea of the face he wants the world to see, as it seems he’s being primed to become Jigsaw, a horribly disfigured yet ruthless adversary of The Punisher’s. The character was previously played by Dominic West in 2008’s Punisher: War Zone, but the less said about that version the better. Let’s hope Barnes and the writers have some tricks up their sleeves.

What do you think of this clip? Does it make you more excited for the second (and hopefully not final) season of The Punisher? Leave your thoughts in the comments!!

Marvel’s The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Jason R. Moore, Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima, Giorgia Whigham, Corbin Bernsen, Annette O’Toole and Deborah Ann Woll. Here’s the synopsis for season two:

Former marine-turned-vigilante Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) has been living a quiet life on the road until he suddenly becomes embroiled in the attempted murder of a young girl (Giorgia Whigham). As he is drawn into the mystery surrounding her and those in pursuit of the information she holds, Castle attracts a new target on his back as new and old enemies force him to confront whether he should accept his destiny and embrace a life as “The Punisher.

The Punisher season two premieres on Netflix on January 18, 2019.
