Managing your time having so much on your table can prove to be difficult, and many speculated that Heath would be a victim in the first half of the show’s season 7. Be warned, spoilers ahead.
While Heath’s death made the most sense with Corey Hawkins taking a starring role in the 24 reboot series, the actor revealed in an interview with Collider, that he and The Walking Dead’s showrunner Scott Gimple decided on leaving Heath’s whereabouts unknown by the end of last season’s episode ‘Swear’, where the last we see of the character are his broken glasses and some tire tracks pointing to a possible abduction. Hawkins commented on what this means for the character’s fate.
“It’s usually very finite, right? But me and Scott have had a lot of conversations; Scott has been great in terms of asking and talking and really trying to figure out where the character was coming from and going, and you know, professional things take you where they take you, that’s normal. But we left it open… so I will just say there is always a possibility, there is always a way.”
So there you have it, Heath’s fate is not set on stone, and his being a minor role on the ensemble series does give the writers a lot possibilities of including the talented actor in future episodes.
Would you like to see Corey Hawkins back in a mayor story arc? Or do you think he was just saved to be killed later? Sound off in the comments below.
