‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Concept Art Reveals Alternate Design For Hela’s Army

New concept art from Thor: Ragnarok reveals a much scarier alternate design for Hela’s undead army.

Most Marvel fans would agree that Thor: Ragnarok was a monumental turning point for the God of Thunder, with Taika Waititi’s signature humor and wit only adding to the cosmic sequel. But it seems that Hela’s undead army the heroes go up against at the end of Thor: Ragnarok were nearly much scarier than the green Asgardian zombies. Although Hela’s army was a great threat for the Asgardian refugees – the alternate design would have made those moments even more intense.

Artist Ian Joyner revealed the new look for Hela’s army on Twitter, explaining that it was one of many designs for the minions. The look for the monster clearly takes cues from Hela’s costume, with its own pointed headpiece. The snapping jaws also give it a monstrous look rather than an undead Asgardian. Although thematically it works better that Hela uses her own fallen soldiers to try restart her crusade through the universe. Take a look at the Thor: Ragnarok concept art below.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Natalie Portman. The film will be based on Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comic book run, with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster becoming the new Thor.
