For those lucky enough to see the Infinity War footage that was screened at the D23 Expo and San Diego Comic-Con, the first scene of that teaser involved the Guardians of the Galaxy inside the Milano when a mysterious figure crashes into their windshield. It turns out that the Guardians have found Thor, who was floating through space unconscious for an unknown reason until he is brought inside the ship and wakes up, becoming the first Avenger to meet the Guardians.
Chris Hemsworth made an appearance during Marvel Studios’ panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year alongside his Ragnarok director Taika Waititi and the rest of the cast. While at Comic-Con, Hemsworth was asked about whether or not Ragnarok will set up his fateful meeting with the Guardians in Infinity War:
“It is. I think so. I think you’ll have to watch our film first to understand what Avengers is about.”
One of the most anticipated elements within Infinity War is to see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes assemble alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy onscreen together for the first time. Just seeing an Avenger share the screen with these galactic heroes left the crowds at Hall H feeling electric.
Here’s the synopsis for Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok:
Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.
Directed by Taika Waititi, the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Tessa Thompson, Idris Elba, Karl Urban, and Jeff Goldblum.
Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters November 3rd.
