Taika Waititi Is Hilarious In ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Gag-Reel

Thor: Ragnarok has often been described as Marvel’s most “fun” movie, and as it turns out, that was because everyone was having a blast filming with director Taika Waititi. In a new behind-the-scenes reel, the director goofs off on the set of the film while the cast explains that he’s a really fun guy to work with.

The video is described as an outtakes reel, but in actuality, it’s a little closer to a behind-the-scenes video. Throughout the video, Waititi can be seen fiddling with props and dancing on the set, in addition to his directing duties and his motion-capture performance as Korg the Kronan:

While the decision to make the third Thor movie a comedic take on the Asgardian apocalypse is something that is still a bit contentious with the fans, one can’t deny the results its brought Marvel — the film is one of their most acclaimed and it greatly boosted the box office presence of the third central Avenger to the initial lineup after the character lagged behind the likes of Captain America and Iron Man. Korg is said to have a future in the setting, and based on how rosy things are looking for the Thor franchise, so does Mr. Waititi. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Ragnarok‘s cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson, Mark Ruffalo as Doctor Bruce Banner (The Hulk), Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin Borson, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, Karl Urban as Skurge, Jeff Goldblum as En Dwi Gast (The Grandmaster), Tom Hiddleston as Loki Laufeyson, Cate Blanchett as Hela, and Clancy Brown as Surtur.
