‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Dominates Social Media Buzz Ahead Of Overseas Debut

Good news for Thor: Ragnarok approaches the movie as it premieres tomorrow in some overseas markets and approaches its release date domestically and everywhere else – the movie is still an absolute monster on social media.

Variety is reporting that the past week was pretty great for Marvel superheroes as a whole, but it particularly rocked for Thor: Ragnarok. The trilogy-capper generated over 113,000 new conversations over different social media outlets, thanks in part to the release of several clips, plot details, and positive reactions to screenings of the movie, raising the number of total conversations above 1.65 million. Rather impressive statistics all around, considering that Thor‘s solo movie franchise is the least popular of the core three Avengers.

In the meantime, Black Panther got an influx of attention with the release of the new trailer, bringing its conversations up by over 70,000 and raising its total to over 960,000 conversations. As fans wait for the release of the Avengers: Infinity War trailer with bated breath, that movie generated more than 27,000 new conversations, bringing its total number of discussions up above 679,000. On the subject of DC superheroes, Justice League had some modest gains (after dominating the conversation with a trailer two weeks ago) with over 19,500 conversations as a result of additional emphasis on marketing the Flash’s role in the film, raising the total just past 1.01 million.

Star Wars also got some love in this week following news of The Last Jedi having incredibly favorable tracking at the box office, leading to an uptick in conversations with over 60,900 new ones taking place. In the meantime, Solo got some attention after production on the film officially wrapped, along with the rather anti-climactic reveal of that super-secret title, bringing more than 19,100 new conversations into the mix. Respectively, The Last Jedi and Solo are respectively at 3.46+ million and 107,000+ conversations in total.

Thor: Ragnarok collides on November 3, 2017, with a cast that includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson, Mark Ruffalo as Doctor Bruce Banner (The Hulk), Tesssa Thompson as Valkyrie, Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin Borson, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Stephen Strange, Karl Urban as Skurge, Jeff Goldblum as En Dwi Gast (The Grandmaster), Tom Hiddleston as Loki Laufeyson, Cate Blanchett as Hela, and Clancy Brown as Surtur.
