Tilda Swinton Teases Another Planet’s Presence In ‘Doctor Strange’

We are now under three weeks away from the release of Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and with every new piece of promotional material released, excitement continues to grow from fans ready to see the big screen debut of the Sorcerer Supreme, portrayed by none other than Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch.

The Scott Derrickson-directed entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe promises audiences that new realms will be explored that have yet to be seen in previous MCU films. For those who had the opportunity to see that special IMAX 3D sneak peek of the movie last week, they were given a taste at how far Marvel is pushing the envelope on a visual standpoint, which is necessary in exploring the supernatural.

Tilda Swinton, who plays the Ancient One appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the film. Swinton revealed that her daughter and son both worked on the production – the former in the costume design team and the latter on the art department. When referencing her son, Swinton recalled:

My son, we had this amazing moment one day when I met him for lunch one day in the canteen and I said, “What did you do this morning?” and he said, “Made a planet!” It’s a planet that, I’ve now seen the movie, and it appears to great effect at the end of the movie.

Jimmy Kimmel confirmed Swinton’s claims that this particular planet has a presence towards the end. The identity of this planet was not revealed, which leaves fans speculating to which particular planet this could be. With Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok coming out next year, both of which will explore the cosmic side of the MCU, it would make sense if this planet in Doctor Strange has a connection to one or maybe even both films.
