While fans still have a long time before the Green Lantern Corps get their own cinematic adventure in the DCEU, a cool piece of fan art imagines Tom Cruise becoming Hal Jordan. The Top Gun and Mission: Impossible actor wields Hal’s iconic domino mask and the Green Lantern ring in the image by popular digital artist BossLogic. While details are scarce on the Green Lantern Corps movie, it’s rumored to focus on the Geoff Johns comic run with Hal Jordan and John Stewart both appearing.
The new piece of art picturing Tom Cruise as Green Lantern takes inspiration from his Top Gun performance, with artist BossLogic jokingly calling the film a Green Lantern prequel. The art even has Tom Cruise as Maverick in the background, as if it’s Hal Jordan’s origin story. Whether Tom Cruise is even in the running to star in the DCEU’s Green Lantern Corps movie isn’t known, but he’s a name that always comes up for the role of Hal Jordan. Take a look at Tom Cruise as Green Lantern for the DCEU below.
