In a recent interview with Comics Explained, Tom Hardy and Venom co-star Riz Ahmed discussed a variety of topics in regards to their work in the industry, but at one point, the two were asked about their favorite parts from the Venom film. Hardy went on to explain that this film had scenes that didn’t make the final cut:
“They’re scenes that aren’t in this movie. There are, like, 30, 40 minutes worth of scenes that aren’t in this movie. All of them. Like mad puppeteering scenes, dark comedy scenes, they just never made it.”
You can watch Tom Hardy explain his favorite scenes in Venom, or lack thereof, in the video below at the 4:40 mark-
With this in mind, if this ends up indeed being the case, would you want to see these favorite scenes of Tom Hardy’s that apparently won’t be in the theatrical version of Venom? Perhaps if the film receives an alternate cut when it’s released on home video, those scenes could be inserted back in as deleted scenes? Time will tell if that ends up being the case. Let us know your thoughts on these possibly deleted moments and give us your thoughts on Venom after it hits theaters this weekend.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, and Woody Harrelson. The film swings into theaters this weekend.
