RUMOR: Sony Wants Tom Hardy’s Venom In Tom Holland’s Third ‘Spider-Man’ Movie

A new rumor claims Sony wants to include Tom Hardy’s Venom in the third Spider-Man film with Tom Holland.

Despite a negative reception from critics, Tom Hardy’s Venom grossed an impressive $855 million at the worldwide box office and it appears Sony is now eager to have the fan-favorite anti-hero cross paths with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. According to Twitter user Roger Wardell, Sony “desperately” wants to include Tom Hardy’s Venom in the third Spider-Man film with Tom Holland, another joint production with Marvel Studios.

The Twitter user also alleges that while a previous rumor suggested Marvel and Sony were considering adding Deadpool to the third Tom Holland Spider-Man film, Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth will instead have his own films without showing up in the main MCU projects, much like the character’s relationship with the main X-Men movies. While this may seem like a questionable source, the Twitter user posted accurate Avengers: Endgame spoilers months before the film hit theaters.

Would you like to see Tom Hardy’s Venom cross paths with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man or are you among the many, myself included, who would prefer to see this incarnation of the fan-favorite villain stay far away from the MCU? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!

Sony is officially working on a sequel to Tom Hardy’s Venom while Tom Holland is set to reprise his role as Spider-Man when Far From Home hits theaters this summer. Here’s the synopsis for Far From Home:

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man must step up to take on new threats in a world that has changed forever.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, Numan Acar, J.B. Smoove, Oli Hill, Remy Hii, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released in theaters on July 2, 2019.
