After a considerable amount of time stuck in the development stage, Sony’s feature film of the adaptation of the Uncharted video game series has set a December 18, 2020, release date, with Tom Holland starring as lead character Nathan Drake. Previous sets back for Sony’s Uncharted film included the separate departures of director David O’ Russell and his replacement Shawn Levy.
Based on the PlayStation video game series of the same name, the Uncharted film is set to star Spider-Man actor Tom Holland as a young Nathan Drake and chronicles his first encounter with the fortune seeker and businessman Victor Sullivan. The film is reportedly influenced by a sequence in Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.
Directed by 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg from a script written by Jonathan Rosenberg and Mark Walker, Uncharted is being produced by Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad.
