Before the Arrowverse, there was Smallville. The CW series about a young Clark Kent in his titular hometown ran for ten seasons and it wasn’t until the final episode that fans saw Tom Welling in the Superman costume. Today, the actor returns as Superman thanks to this impressive fan art.
Barrett.Digital posted the awesome art on Instagram and it features Tom Welling as Superman in one of his most iconic forms. The famous DC comic book Kingdom Come ran for four issues when it debuted in 1996. It was created by two very notable names in the comic book industry, Mark Waid and Alex Ross. Now, fans have the chance to see Tom Welling bring the role to life thanks to this new fan art.
Kingdom Come won’t be the next event for The CW’s Arrowverse, instead, it will be an adaptation of George Perez and Marv Wolfman’s 1985 comic book event Crisis on Infinite Earths. The exciting adaptation was announced at the end of The CW’s most recent event, titled Elseworlds. That doesn’t mean that Tom Welling can’t make a cameo though.
