If you are like me, Michael Bay’s Transformers films were likely a huge part of your childhood. However, the franchise has been around since the early 1980s, and with the release of next summer’s The Last Knight it does not look like it is going anywhere. The new film, which is set to star Mark Wahlberg has begun shooting in the United Kingdom. Thanks to a couple of Twitter users, we have a couple of looks at some new characters from the film; do not get too excited, though, as it is just their vehicles.
In the first video, we have our first legitimate look at fan-favourite Hot Rod, who a fanboy like myself has been demanding since the 2007 original. We also receive a look at Bumblebee’s new Chevrolet Camaro, as well as some returning characters like Drift and Crosshairs.
The second video features the race about to begin, with a surprising grey vehicle following the Autobots; one would assume it is a “Decepticon punk,” or another government agent, a trend in Bay’s films. The film has done an excellent job so far on not releasing any information. Bay recently revealed that King Arthur would appear in the movie, but to what capacity? Nobody knows. The United Kingdom is the latest filming location for the movie, with Havana, Phoenix and Detroit already covered. Hopefully, Bay’s latest film harkens back to the 2007 original, and less his last outing with 2014’s Age Of Extinction.
You can catch Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson in Transformers: The Last Knight when it speeds into theatres everywhere on June 23, 2017.
