Director Michael Bay recently shared an image from the set of Transformers: The Last Knight on his Instagram page, giving us a look at how he and the rest of the cast and crew of the movie spent their Fourth of July weekend. Judging by the photo below, it looks like it was an explosive one to say the least.
The cast of the movie includes Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson, as well as franchise newcomers Isabela Moner, Laura Haddock, Jerrod Carmichael, Santiago Cabrera and Sir Anthony Hopkins. Plenty of Transformers have already been confirmed for the upcoming sequel, including the likes of Bumblebee, Barricade, Megatron, Sqweeks and Drift.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but rumor has it that the story will revolve around Optimus Prime trying to locate a mysterious artifact to bring Cybertron back to life. That artifact apparently has ties with Merlin (as in, Merlin the Magician of King Arthur lore), so it’s safe to say that he’ll be looking for Excalibur.
Directed by Michael Bay from a script by Ken Nolan and Iron Man scribes Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, Transformers: The Last Knight is currently scheduled to open in theaters on June 23, 2017. Are you guys looking forward to the movie?
