Universal Confirms No Plans For ‘Jurassic World 2’ Teaser Yet

Universal Pictures has confirmed that there are no plans to release a teaser trailer for the upcoming Jurassic World 2 yet.

Following a tease from Jurassic World 2 star Daniella Pineda that the first teaser for the upcoming dino-rampaging sequel could be on the way, Universal Pictures has confirmed that is not the case.

After the London wrap party this past weekend, Pineda shared her excitement to have joined the franchise as she revealed that she had seen footage from the new film and teased that we could be seeing it soon as well.

According to Jurassic Outpost, the website reached out to Universal for a statement to which the studio clarified that the footage shown at the London wrap party is not part of the film’s official marketing materials and that there are no plans for a teaser trailer at this time:

“No plans yet for a teaser trailer. Not sure what is being shown at the London wrap party, but it’s not official marketing materials.”

Plot details on the upcoming sequel are still under wraps but both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be returning as Owen and Claire as the franchise continues the storyline of weaponized dinosaurs introduced in Jurassic World.

In addition to Pineda, the sequel has added Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin and James Cromwell into the mix. Jeff Goldblum who played the self-professed “chaotician” Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park will also be returning for the sequel and BD Wong will once again appear as Dr. Henry Wu.

The film will be directed by  J.A. Bayona (A Monster Calls). While Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow exited the project as director to helm Star Wars: Episode IX, he returns to exec produce the sequel along with along with Steven Spielberg and Thomas Tull. Trevorrow also co-wrote the script with his writing partner Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall, Pat Crowley, and Belén Atienza are producing.

Jurassic World 2 is slated to hit theaters on June 22, 2018. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the Jurassic World franchise as we learn it.
