“I’m proud of the movie we’ve put out, and I think that the additional material on the DVD adds a little bit of color to the film. I don’t feel the need at this point to release an unrated version, I feel like fans seem to really like the movie that we put out.”
And he’s not wrong. Fans did enjoy the movie. With an 85% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a worldwide box office of more than $850 million -making eight times its own $100 million budget-, Venom proved to be a crowd pleaser over the poor critical reception it had with a Critics Tomatometer of 29%.

VENOM tells the evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancee. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?
Venom is now available on Digital and will be released on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD on December 18.
