First ‘Venom’ Clip Finds Eddie Brock Conducting An Interview

The first official clip from Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spin-off Venom has been released, courtesy of IGN.

In this new clip, we see one of the earlier scenes in the film where Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is shown interviewing Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed) about the Life Foundation. This scene sets up the tension that will continue to grow between the two throughout the film – as both Eddie Brock and Carlton Drake will become Venom and Riot respectively.

You can check out the brand new clip down below:

Just on virtue of talent-level alone, it is pretty exciting to see both Tom Hardy and Riz Ahmed act together onscreen. The two actors have received much acclaim throughout their respective careers, and to see them lend their talents to a comic book movie is something that fans should be thankful for. Hopefully, when the two are onscreen as Venom and Riot, magic will occur.

With just a few weeks left until it hits theaters, how do you think Venom will turn out? Will critics and fans enjoy this new adaptation of the beloved Marvel character? Will Sony and Ruben Fleischer prove the naysayers wrong about their planed Spider-Man spin-offs? Sound off in the comments below, and be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news about Venom and the rest of Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man films.

Venom follows Eddie Brock as he attempts to revive his journalism career by investigating the Life Foundation only to come into with an alien symbiote that bonds with him, granting him powers and transforming him into the titular anti-hero.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, the film Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson. It opens in theaters on October 5, 2018.
