Tom Hardy leads a great the cast in the anti-hero film as Eddie Brock, a reporter who gets more then he bargained for while chasing a juicy story. This hot scoop ends up costing the reporter as he ends becoming something out of this world. The transformation takes place when he encounters an alien symbiote, which ends up using Brock’s body as a host.
Venom is tracking very well at the box office and looks to take the weekend by storm. The film is tracking between $57-$65 million for Sony, something that would be huge. The record for October openings is currently held by Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity with $55.7 million, with Ridley Scott’s The Martian coming in second with $54.3 million. This could be the big win the studio needs to get this cinematic universe off the ground. That series fell flat after the second installment. Venom will hopefully kickstart this movement and provide a foundation for other characters such as Mobius the Living Vampire, Kraven the Hunter and Nightwatch to begin their cinematic run.
