‘Venom’ Sequel In The Works With Scribe Kelly Marcel

It’s official, a Venom sequel is in the works with one of the first film’s scribes Kelly Marcel.

Venom was a blockbuster smash. It amassed a massive $855 million at the Global Box Office, so of course Sony went and green-lit a sequel. According to Variety, Sony has green-lit a sequel with Kelly Marcel writing the script. Her new deal ups her to Executive Producer. Ruben Fleischer will not return to direct.

The first film was panned by critics and adored by fans. While the films reviews were horrible, most fans enjoyed Venom due to it being so bad that it was actually good. A sequel to the film makes a lot of sense due to the symbiotic post-credits tag. The sequel will more than likely follow Tom Hardy’s Venom facing off with Woody Harrelson’s Carnage.

What do you think about the film getting a sequel? Are you excited for Venom to return to the big screen? Sound off in the comments section below!

Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a script written by Jeff Pinkner & Scott Rosenberg and Kelly Marcel, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, Reid Scott, Jenny Slate, Ron Cephas Jones, and Woody Harrelson.

VENOM tells the evolution story of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass character Venom! Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is a broken man after he loses everything including his job and fiancee. Just when his life is at its lowest, he becomes host to an alien symbiote which results in extraordinary superpowers – transforming him into Venom. Will these powers be enough for this new lethal protector to defeat great evil forces, especially against the far stronger and more weaponized symbiote rival, Riot?

Venom is now available on Digital and will be released on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD on December 18.
