The two films will debut shortly after Chinese theaters reopen.
A new report from Deadline reveals that with the majority of Chinese theaters preparing to reopen from next week, a number of films have already been slated for release across the country. Both Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot and Robert Downey Jr.’s Dolittle are among the initial releases for Chinese audiences to finally watch on the big screen, with more classic titles on the way as an incentive to boost ticket sales.
Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot and Robert Downey Jr.’s Dolittle will both debut on July 24 across China, which has implemented a number of strategies to reduce the risk of causing a spike in coronavirus cases. Theaters will only be allowed to operate at 30% audience capacity with no concessions or films over two hours. Masks will also be mandatory throughout every screening. Temperature checks will also be given to audience members and there will also be a meter distance between each guest. Other titles awaiting release in the country are Bad Boys For Life, Jojo Rabbit and Sonic the Hedgehog.
Did you enjoy Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot or Robert Downey Jr.’s Dolittle? Do you think U.S. theaters should stay closed for longer? Or do you think they should open with similar measures in place? Sound-off in the comments below!
