Cody and his brother Caleb both helped Furious 7 by standing in for their brother to finish some scenes after Paul Walker’s tragic death in a car accident at age 40. Fast and Furious 9 is filming for its May 2020 release date and Cody, now 31, was there on set with Vin Diesel, who shared the touching moment with the following caption:
There is something special that happens every time Cody comes to visit production…. Always making Pablo proud! All love, always.
“Pablo” is Vin Diesel’s affectionate name for Paul Walker, who he referenced in the post with Cody. You can see the Instagram post below:
This photo could easily pass for Dom and Brian walking together — or Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. Could that be what this post is alluding to? With an emphasis on family throughout the franchise, bringing Paul Walker’s character back wouldn’t be entirely out of the question and both Cody and Caleb have stood in for their brother before.
What do you make of Vin Diesel’s post from the Fast and Furious 9 set? Let us know in the comments.
Directed by Justin Lin from a script written by Daniel Casey, Fast and Furious 9 star Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, John Cena, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron.
Fast and Furious 9 is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on May 22, 2020. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Vin Diesel and the possible return of Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner in Fast and Furious 9.
