Vincent D’Onofrio Discusses When Kingpin Will Return To The MCU

Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin has been one of the many highlights of Marvel’s Daredevil. The villain was last seen towards the end of the show’s second season, but we know that he’ll be back eventually.

However, Daredevil won’t be returning for a third season until 2018 at the earliest, so fans have been wondering about when we’ll next see Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin in Marvel Cinematic Universe. It doesn’t seem like they’re the only ones, though.

While doing the press rounds for his latest project, NBC’s Emerald City, Vincent D’Onofrio spoke with Collider and revealed that he’s not quite sure yet about when he’ll get to reprise the role, but he can’t wait to find out. Here’s what he told the site:

“He will, eventually. Honestly, I wish I knew ‘cause I could plan my year better. I know he will come back, I just don’t know when. I can’t wait to find out. I’m totally into the Marvel stuff, big time. I want to do Marvel, all the time. I love it so much ‘cause they’re so creative over there. They let you bring this whole new thing to an iconic thing that they invented. It’s just so much fun. I love it to death. I want to see Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman. There’s something about those movies. I dig the shit out of them. I’ve been tweeting back and forth with James Gunn, about doing something with him because I love Guardians of the Galaxy so much.”

Of course, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin could always make an appearance in Marvel’s The Defenders or The Punisher, which will be both hitting Netflix later this year. We likely won’t know for sure until the shows arrive on the streaming service, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see the villain in one of the two… or maybe even both.
