Vincent D’Onofrio is set to reprise his role as Wilson Fisk aka The Kingpin in the third seasons of the hit Marvel Netflix series Daredevil.
After having starred in the first season of Daredevil and returning for a smaller part in the second season of the hit series, D’Onofrio has been absent from all of Netflix’s subsequent Marvel follow-ups including the first seasons of Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and the street level hero team-up The Defenders. The actor recently revealed he was confident he would be returning to the role.
In addition, Erik Oleson will be taking the reigns as the new showrunner. Oleson served as executive producer on The Man in the High Castle as well as a co-executive producer The CW’s hit DC Comics drama Arrow. Oleson exec produces alongside Jeph Loeb, Drew Goddard, and Jim Chory. Loeb released a statement to the trade expressing his excitement to have D’Onofrio returning to the series.
“Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk.”
Loeb also shared his confidence in Oleson coming on board as showrunner:
“We’re very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our new showrunner, Erik Oleson.”
