‘Daredevil’ Star Vincent D’Onofrio Asks Fans To Sign #SaveDaredevil Petition

Daredevil star Vincent D’Onofrio has taken to Twitter to ask fans to support the #SaveDaredevil campaign to bring back the series after it was canceled by the streaming service following its third season.

Vincent D’Onofrio first showed his support for the petition to bring back the series last month. The actor has been very passionate showing his support for the series since its cancelation. The Kingpin actor has done everything from teasing the return of his Daredevil character to speaking out on how the series’ cancelation made no sense. Following its critically acclaimed third season, Netflix opted to cancel the Daredevil in an effort close the series on a high note while writers were already in development on the fourth season.

In his latest effort to support the Save Daredevil campaign, Vincent D’Onofrio implored fans to sign the petition and support the show being revived at the streaming service. You can check out his tweet below.

Although Netflix does not release metrics for its viewership ratings, data previously released by Crimson Hexagon, a consumer-insights firm, revealed the social media engagement for Marvel’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage dropped significantly following the debut of each series. Both Iron Fist and Luke Cage were canceled before Daredevil after their respective second seasons in October.

While The Punisher has yet to be canceled after the release of its second season, data from analytics company Jumpshot revealed the series saw a considerable drop in viewership, falling 40% from the show’s first to second season weekend premieres. Comparatively, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist fell over 60% in first-weekend viewership for their latest seasons.

The third season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones is currently on the way.

Daredevil Season 3 stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Wilson Bethel, Jay Ali, and Lesley Ann Warren.

Missing for months, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) reemerges a broken man, putting into question his future as both vigilante Daredevil and lawyer Matthew Murdock. But when his archenemy Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) is released from prison, Matt must choose between hiding from the world, or embracing his destiny as a hero.

Daredevil Season 3 is now streaming on Netflix. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we learn it.
