17-year-old Australian digital artist Subi Özil likes to create fan imagined depictions of DC and Marvel characters. His work includes Brendan Thwaites’s Robin as Nightwing, a Hulk/Thor mash-up and several posters. This time around he imagined how Kingpin actor Vincent D’Onofrio could look like as Superman antagonist Lex Luthor. He’s even holding a piece of green kryptonite!

As much as we would want this to happen in real life, it doesn’t seem like we’ll actually get it. On one hand, Vincent D’Onofrio’s future as Daredevil villain Kingpin is up in the air. After the show’s cancellation, the series’ future is still unknown mainly because Marvel has yet to announce what the franchise’s next step is. While we may see a Daredevil series on Disney+, the new streaming services has yet to be launched. But whether it’s with the same cast, it’s anybody’s guess at the moment. Also, the DCEU already has its own Lex Luthor in Jesse Eisenberg and the Arrowverse has Jon Cryer playing the Superman big bad. But don’t get us wrong. Vincent D’Onofrio would make an awesome Lex Luthor after he showed us his chops as Wilson Fisk and we would love to see him go head to head with Superman.
In the meantime, you can catch Vincent D’Onofrio on Netflix. Here’s the synopsis for Daredevil season 3:
Missing for months, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) reemerges a broken man, putting into question his future as both vigilante Daredevil and lawyer Matthew Murdock. But when his archenemy Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) is released from prison, Matt must choose between hiding from the world, or embracing his destiny as a hero.
Daredevil season 3 stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Joanne Whalley, Jay Ali, Wilson Bethel, Stephen Rider, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
Daredevil is now available on Netflix.
