First Look At Viola Davis’ Return As Amanda Waller In ‘The Suicide Squad’

New photos from the set of The Suicide Squad reveal the first look at Viola Davis’ return as Amanda Waller.

Although David Ayer’s Suicide Squad received mixed reviews upon its release, Viola Davis’ performance as Amanda Waller was one of the few aspects of the film to receive near-unanimous praise. While James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is expected to offer a new spin on the eponymous team of villains, the highly-anticipated sequel will feature a number of returning favorites from David Ayer’s film, including Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller.

Now, new photos from the set of The Suicide Squad provide fans with their first look at Viola Davis’ return as Amanda Waller for the James Gunn film. The photos feature Viola Davis filming scenes as Amanda Waller inside of an Atlanta prison alongside co-stars Idris Elba as Vigilante, John Cena as Peacemaker, and Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher.
