Rodeo FX, the company behind many of the 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' visual effects, has released a breakdown of their VFX work on the film.
With many scenes completely rendered via computer graphics, including the MACUSA’s headquarters and the expansive inside of Newt Scamander’s (Eddie Redmayne) magical suitcase and all of its … well, fantastic beasts, the breakdown gives Potterheads and VFX lovers alike an inside look at how the movie was brought to life.
Recreating 1920’s New York is a challenge in and of itself, but add to that the splendor and possibilities of magic and you’ve got quite the undertaking on your hands. However, as fans continued to vote with their wallets, Rodeo FX’s contribution to the film seems to only have added to the magic.
Having taken in over $800 million dollars worldwide, the return to the wizarding world was a rousing success. With four more films in the works, there’s sure to be more magic and mayhem ahead as the pre-Harry Potter wizarding world becomes fully realized.
