In The Walking Dead, McIntosh portrays the character Jadis. In the series, she was the leader of the Scavengers who often spoke in broken English. She eventually joined the people of Alexandria but still felt like an outcast. She ultimately decided to leave Alexandria with the helicopter people but apparently not before helping to rescue Rick.
In his final episode, Rick, heavily wounded, leads a walker heard away from his friends before destroying a bridge, cutting them off from Alexandria. He was then taken away by Jadis in a helicopter. AMC then announced that it would be producing three spin-off films that would center around Rick. The actress, however, was not sure if she would be involved in the films.
During an interview with TV Guide, McIntosh said that if she didn’t hear anything by Christmas, she would know that it would not involve her:
They want to shoot next year, so if I don’t hear by Christmas I’ll know that I’m not doing it, won’t I?
From the sound of things, the actress knows about as much as we do.
What did you all make of Rick Grimes’ departure from the show? Can it survive without him as the lead character? Would you like to see Jadis be a main character in the upcoming Rick Grimes films? Should she stick to the main series? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
The Walking Dead airs on Sunday nights at 9 P.M. on AMC.
