‘The Walking Dead’: Andrew Lincoln On Future Child With Michonne

'The Walking Dead' actor Andrew Lincoln says the possibility of a future child with Rick Grimes' love, Michonne, could happen.

The Walking Dead is constantly having to face the threat of zombies. With Negan now on the prowl as well, the population continues to grow smaller and smaller.

But with the potential of death high on the show, would Rick Grimes ever consider having a baby with Michonne (Danai Gurira), even with the risk?

According to Andrew Lincoln, the actor who plays him on the show, that answer is a yes.

“Oh, yeah. Without a doubt. I think the whole point is to start again and to restart and it’s about the future, and it’s obviously the next generation and, as far as we can tell, we’re outnumbered undead to human a lot. It is about repopulating the world. I think that they make a terrific couple and I don’t think he would hesitate. Also, maybe in a couple of episodes time, there may be a jump ahead in the curve and maybe setting themselves to that job at hand.

So could The Walking Dead jump ahead a few years to show us if Rick and Michonne did, indeed, have a child together? Possibly, based on Lincoln’s comments.

The pair do make a good couple and it would make sense, on a basic human instinct level, to want to bring new life into the world. With children, there is the constant hope that things will be better and so a child of Rick and Michonne could do just that.

The Walking Dead returns tomorrow night at 9/8c on AMC.
