’The Walking Dead’ Filmed Multiple Deaths For Negan’s Victim

The season finale of The Walking Dead introduced us to comic book fan-favorite villain Negan as his ‘Saviors’ captured Rick ad the group. The episode ended with a crazy cliff-hanger where Negan took his bat, ‘Lucile’ to one of our heroes’ heads. Some fans loved the cliff-hanger, but many vocal fans were upset they would have to wait until the fall to find out who the victim was going to be. This led to all sorts of theories by YouTube sleuths. The secret as to who is killed is so well protected that AMC has threatened legal action against leakers. Basically, this will be the best-kept secret of the fall.

They are in such a “protection mode” that the production crew has filmed more than 11 separate death scenes to make sure that no one truly knows who will be Lucile’s victim. Producers will decide who actually dies in the editing room. So as of right now, it still could be anyone. This decision was made due to the ever prevalent use of drones to scout for new footage as Executive Producer Scott Gimple explains:

“With the advent of drones, it can become such a game of cat and mouse that as far as sneaking a peek at the actors walking to set, we want to just keep our actors safe and the people who might be looking safe — like [when they’re] in the street,”

Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays Sasha stated that many times actors have to go from place to place incognito wearing hats a and hooded sweatshirts to help protect the story and maintain secrecy. Negan himself, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has stated that we know who Negan kills right in the premiere.

The Walking Dead returns this fall to AMC.
