During a recent interview, Michael Cudlitz talked a bit about The Walking Dead, how it handled the deaths of Abraham and Glenn and how it may have inadvertently affected the show’s ratings. He felt that it was a bit too much for fans and the audience to see them both taken out in the same episode.
Michael Cudlitz went on to compare Glenn to the moral compass of the group and was the heart of the show at the time:
I always said, I personally thought it was not the wisest thing to take both Abraham and Glenn out in the same episode. It’s too much of a loss for the fans, for the audience. [Glenn’s] like the moral compass and the heart of the show at the time, even pulling Rick back, he was almost the Herschel whisperer – he’d also become that other side of him that was able to guide him, or at least help guide him.
From the look of things, Abraham’s actor felt that the deaths could have been handled a bit better!
What did you all think of these deaths? Is Michael Cudlitz right? Was killing Abraham and Glenn to much for one episode? Did The Walking Dead go downhill after? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
