‘The Walking Dead’: Andrew Lincoln Has No Plans To Return To TV Series

The Walking Dead‘s Andrew Lincoln has confirmed that he will not be returning to the TV series.

Rick’s departure from The Walking Dead has been talked about for months, with all kinds of theories flying around as to how the character would bite the dust. As those of you who watched Sunday’s episode know, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) did depart from the series but not by way of dying.

On the most recent episode of The Walking Dead, Rick sacrificed himself to save his friends but wound up surviving the event and was rescued via helicopter. It has since been revealed that Lincoln will reprise the role of Rick in three TV movies but the actor himself confirmed in an interview with The New York Times that he will not be returning to the TV series itself.

“I can categorically say that I will not be returning to the TV show.”

Although Lincoln will not be returning to the TV show, as stated above, fans won’t have to say goodbye to him just yet. Rick will headline three feature-length films that will air on AMC and as far as how that trilogy will send the character off, that’s something that fans will have to wait patiently to see unfold as the network tries to further expand The Walking Dead‘s story and characters.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding The Walking Dead as soon as more information becomes available. Were you satisfied by Rick’s departure from the series? What are you hoping to see explored in the upcoming movie trilogy? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
