After making her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first Thor film, Dennings is set to make her return as Darcy Lewis in WandaVision, the second series Marvel Studios has set to release on Disney’s direct to consumer streaming service following The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
While appearing on Whitney Cummings’ Good For You podcast, Dennings detailed the stunt as well as her surprise to there being no stunt double for the sequence despite the fact that she had suffered an ankle injury several years ago:
“There was a scene where I’m running through a field and I get to the night shoot and there’s no stunt on the call sheet.”
WandaVision was confirmed to release sometime in December of this year just over a month before The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was forced to halt production due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Although since WandaVision has reportedly completed production with most of its visual effects complete, it’s possible the series could meet its intended release date. The series wrapped filming just before the outbreak was declared a national emergency in the United States.
Here is the official synopsis for WandaVision:
Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
Directed by Matt Shakman with Jac Schaeffer as head writer, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn in an undisclosed role.
WandaVision will debut in December 2020. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest updates on WandaVision, Kat Dennings, Elizabeth Olsen, and future Disney Plus shows and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more content.
