Warner Bros. And Christopher Nolan Confident ‘Tenet’ Will Make Release Date

Warner Bros. and Christopher Nolan are reportedly confident that Tenet will make its July 17 release date.

After the most recent trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Tenet sent fans into a frenzy, many still wonder whether the film will arrive on time or if it’ll be delayed like so many other big-budget studio movies like Black Widow, No Time To Die and Wonder Woman 1984. During Cinemark’s Q1 call, CEO Mark Zoradi explained that the company has spoken with Warner Bros., confirming that both the studio and the director are confident about Tenet‘s debut.

“We’ve been in close contact with Warner Bros. and they remain optimistic and positive as well as Christopher Nolan about the July 17 opening. Of course, it depends on the continued positive movement due to the decline of COVID-19 and government restrictions being reduced.”

Zoradi went on to address concerns regarding the coronavirus, and mentioned that Cinemark screenings will operate with a reduced audience of 50%, pointing out “we can operate profitability with all the (safety) techniques we put in place”. The CEO also addressed the possibility of Tenet‘s delay, noting that if a decision is made it’ll be announced sooner rather than later. Zoradi suggested the studio would announce the delay this month if the situation changes.

“…in the not distant future. I can’t speak for them, but it will be before June,”

Do you think Christopher Nolan’s Tenet will still make the release date? What are you excited to see in the movie? Sound-off in the comments below!

Here’s the official synopsis for Tenet:

“John David Washington is the new Protagonist in Christopher Nolan’s original sci-fi action spectacle “Tenet.” Armed with only one word—Tenet—and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time. Not time travel. Inversion.”

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, Tenet stars John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, and Himesh Patel. Christopher Nolan also serves as a producer alongside his wife Emma Thomas, with Thomas Hayslip on board as an executive producer.
