Warner Bros. Shows Off 20 Minutes Of Exciting ‘Shazam!’ Footage

During a special sneak peek of Shazam! Warner Bros. showed off the first 20 minutes of the film, giving lucky viewers a better look at the upcoming superhero film.

The description for the footage in question comes to us through Comicbook.com that described a number of interesting things about the upcoming film. This notably includes an intro that starts off with Eminem’s “Slim Shady” with Billy Batson and his adopted family heading into class. From there, Billy stands up to bigger kids while protecting his adopted brother. Warner Bros. apparently opted to edit through an apparent chance scene to Billy on the subway.

From there Billy is transported to the Rock of Eternity and meets Djimon Hounsou’s Wizard. The footage then goes into a montage of history regarding the power of Shazam! but apparently was a bit hard to comprehend as it was full of unfinished effects. Here he reportedly identified himself as the last Wizard who used to be one of a consul

Not long after, Batson is transformed into Shazam! and turns to his adoptive brother where there was a montage of discovering what his powers were. The footage apparently ends with Shazam! stopping a mugger with excessive force that was not needed. Apparently, Batson still has a lot to learn before he becomes a true hero!

What do you all make of this footage description? Does it tell you anything you didn’t already know from the trailer? Was it necessary for Warner Bros. to release it? Let us know what you think in the comments below!

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Djimon Hounsou.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
