‘Watchmen’: First Look At U.S. President Robert Redford In HBO Series

A new photo from HBO’s Watchmen premiere afterparty offers fans their first look at U.S. President Robert Redford.

The final issue of Alan Moore’s Watchmen hinted at acclaimed actor Robert Redford running for President of the United States in the fictional world and HBO’s series of the same name is set to expand on the concept. At a Television Critics Association panel earlier this year, Watchmen showrunner Damon Lindelof explained that the HBO series will feature Robert Redford as the President of the United States, a position the acclaimed actor has held since winning the 1992 election against Gerald Ford, whose predecessor Richard Nixon abolished term limits in the fictional world.

While Robert Redford will not actually appear in Watchmen as the fictional version of himself, a new photo from the afterparty for the HBO series’ premiere offers fans their first look at the character. The photo comes courtesy of THR’s Borys Kit, who shared the image of a plate featuring President Robert Redford that was on display the Watchmen premiere afterparty.
