Three New Teasers For HBO’s ‘Watchmen’ Give Nod To Alan Moore’s Series

HBO has released three new Watchmen teasers that pay tribute to the original comic by Alan Moore.

The Leftovers creator Damon Lindelof will reimagine Alan Moore’s Watchmen world in a new television series for HBO and now the official Instagram account for the show has unveiled three new teasers for the adaptation with captions that read, “Abandon all hope, ye who enters here,” “Reach out and touch Mars,'” and “It’s not 1985 anymore.” That videos also contain nods to Alan Moore’s original comic with one featuring an American flag with 51 stars (Vietnam being the 51st state in this alternate universe), one referencing Doctor Manhattan’s visits to Mars, and another emphasizing the cultural impact of pirate-based entertainment in a world where superheroes are real.
