When Empire Magazine asked director Bryan Singer if we’d see a certain mutant with ties to the program making an appearance in the film, the director commented that as a “central character, he didn’t fit into this particular story.” It’s pretty much certain at this point that Wolverine will appear, it’s just a question of in what capacity now.
As for Bryan Singer’s future with the franchise? The director told the outlet that his leaving the franchise “is not something I think about. But I could not roll into another X-Men movie tomorrow. And I hope not to. I hope to take a break.” So, where do the X-Men go next? Singer might have a very interesting and unexpected villain in mind for the sequel.
I’d love to use Proteus somehow. There’s a lot visually you could do with a character like that.
While this may not be the choice fans want to hear, there’s no denying that it could be an interesting choice for the future. Let us know your thoughts on the above in the comments section below.
