‘Westworld’ Official Poster Released

HBO released the official poster for Westworld today.  The trailer was released a few days ago and gave a glimpse into what viewers can expect for the series. The re-adaptation of Michael Crichton’s film of the same name is already proving to be edgy and enticing; just what HBO needs for a new drama.

The poster’s tagline is “Every Hero Has A Code”, a callback to the series’ protagonists: the androids. The logo is a bit unsettling and cold; and sets the tone perfectly for this re-adaptation. The main focus of the poster is a double “W” which prominently features an android and a western backdrop within the “W”. The show’s trailer already promised that Westworld is much more than “just a theme park” and it looks like viewers are in store for a wild ride.

Westworld is described as “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.” The series is executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.  The all-star cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Rodrigo Santoro, and Tessa Thompson.
Westworld premieres October 2nd on HBO.

What do you think of the poster? Are you excited for the premiere of Westworld?
