Nearly a year after wrapping up the eight-season run of Game of Thrones, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are set to return to the HBO family when Westworld returns this month. However, this time the Game of Thrones showrunners will be appearing in front of the camera for a cameo in the third season of the science-fiction series.
The Wrap reports that the Game of Thrones alumn will appear in the second episode of Westworld season 3 as technicians at Delos, the company behind the many theme parks featured in the show. Details on the scene featuring the Game of Thrones duo were not divulged, but the episode featuring their cameo is scheduled to air on March 22, one week after the third season of Westworld debuts.
Here is the official series synopsis for HBO’s Westworld:
Westworld isn’t your typical amusement park. Intended for rich vacationers, the futuristic park — which is looked after by robotic “hosts” — allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness. No matter how illicit the fantasy may be, there are no consequences for the park’s guests, allowing for any wish to be indulged. “Westworld” — which is based on the 1973 Michael Crichton movie of the same name — features an all-star cast that includes Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins and Golden Globe winner Ed Harris.
Westworld season 3 stars Evan Rachel Wood as Dolores, Thandie Newton as Maeve, Ed Harris as Man in Black, Jeffrey Wright as Bernard, Tessa Thompson as Charlotte, Luke Hemsworth as Stubbs, Simon Quarterman as Lee Sizemore and Rodrigo Santoro as Hector Escaton. New cast members include Aaron Paul, Vincent Cassel, Lena Waithe, Scott Mescudi a.k.a. Kid Cudi, Marshawn Lynch, John Gallagher Jr., Michael Ealy, and Tommy Flanagan.
Westworld season 3 premieres on March 15 at 9:00 p.m. ET on HBO.
